Important Safety Notice: The Consortium Branded Handwriting Pen

16/09/2014

We pride ourselves on supplying you with great quality products that are fit for purpose and our aim is always to offer you great value as well as giving you an award-winning service.

It has come to our attention that a number of The Consortium branded 'handwriting pens' we supply have not been compliant with the required safety standard we would expect. The required standard is BS7272-2. This standard governs the specifications for end closures for writing and marking instruments and dictates the amount of force required to detach the end plug of the pen.

We can confirm that there have been no reported issues as a result of this non-compliance. However, as a precautionary measure, we are issuing a product recall.

Please find below the item codes and descriptions of handwriting pens sold since 14 August 2013, which do not comply with the required safety standard.
