Christmas clay decorations are a fun festive craft for children to take home at the end of term.
You will need
1. ModelAiR can be moulded and shaped into a festive decoration of choice. For younger children, a hand can be pressed into a flattened piece of ModelAiR to create a personalised handprint decoration.
Extension idea: Children can experiment with colour mixing by adding water based paint to the ModelAiR for a marbled effect or solid colour.
2. The decoration can be covered with PVA and then glitter for a sparkly Christmas decoration. We use an activity tray to limit the mess made by glitter and allow excess glitter to be reused by tipping it back into the tub.
3. A hole can be made in the top of the decoration with a pencil before leaving it for at least 24 hours to harden.
4. Once finished a piece of ribbon can be used to hang the decoration from a Christmas tree. Children can get creative by choosing their own shapes, colours and glitter options for their christmas clay decorations.
