Movember Update: Sponsored Moustaches Raise £1,800 for Charity

November, 2010

We are now just over half way through the month of November, or Movember, and we are pleased to report the moustache growing is going well, as is the fundraising!

A total of 24 male staff, including 4 of The Consortium directors, are taking part in the charity event, Movember, which involves growing a moustache for the whole of November (hence the name Movember) to raise funds for charities that focus on men's health.

Collectively they’ve raised nearly £1,800 for Movember. In the UK, the funds raised by Movember go to The Prostate Cancer Charity, the UK’s leading charity for the number one cancer affecting men.

Every year in the UK 36,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and one man dies every hour from it. The Prostate Cancer Charity is striving for a world where lives are no longer limited by prostate cancer.

We'll catch up with them again at the end of the month but in the meantime here are some of the moustachioed fundraisers:
